Ridgeline Rampage

Mountain Bike racing came to Castle Rock on Sunday June 12th, at a brand new venue . . . Ridgeline Open Space park. It was the inaugural running of the Ridgeline Rampage Endurance race, which was the third stop on the Rocky Mountain Endurance race series.

The course for the Ridgeline Rampage was mostly smooth, dry and hard packed. But, it did include lots of tight turns and short rises to keep racers on their toes. It was a power rider's course which also required good cornering and bike handling skills. With each 10 mile loop including almost 1,000 feet of elevation gain, it wasn't just a "Sunday ride in the park" as they say.

The Marathon race began at 8am under sunny skies and warm conditions. Marathon racers completed 6 laps around the 10 mile course. Three Feedback Sports racers competed in the 60 mile marathon race. Rob Batey finished on the podium (in 2nd place) in the 30-39 race. And that was after racing at the Winter Park Hill Climb the day before!

Marjie Tokarski won the Women's Marathon 40-49 race with an excellent time of 5 hours and 24 minutes.

She finished with the 3rd fastest time of all Women, winning a nice cash prize along with some cool merchandise.

Ed Tokarski also raced the Marathon, finishing 6th. Ed had lots to smile about with a strong performance on his "home" course.

The 30 mile half marathon (XC) races rolled out at 2pm, under hot and sunny conditions. Feedback Sports racer Jason Young raced in the Pro/Open division and finished 3rd. Jason, below, ripping through one of the short descents.

And on the podium for his award.

Team members Pat D'Innocenzo and Mike Schaub competed in the 50+ race and finished 1-2.

Team Feedback Sports, well represented on the podium.
